This term, Stage 1 have been learning about different types of shelter. The students have explored and investigated both the natural and built shelters of humans, animals and plants and how these shelters vary depending on the type of environment they live in.
As a culmination of the unit the students were then involved in a design project that involved making a 3D model of an animal shelter or habitat. Students were required to plan their design, keeping in mind some of the challenges that the animal may face - such as pollution or deforestation.
Students were asked to think about the materials they could use to create their model and the process involved in its creation. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and produced some outstanding results across the stage. Here are our students creating some of their wonderful animal habitats...
